Brenda has been doing commissioned artwork since her College days. She enjoys the challenge of portrait work because she intuitively connects with the person she is drawing, bringing out their essence in ways that a mere photograph seldom captures. Some people have said her portraits are healing, as though she sees the real person inside, and brings that out on the surface.
As an example, the portrait below is of her grandfather, whom she barely got to know before he died. Yet she has brought out the incredible kindness and caring which his family experienced.
